Colleen, foster Mom at our Diaper Drop Sarah's Covenant Homes, shares with us a "A tale of two brothers".
Caden and Abraham both live at Sarah's Covenant Homes in a home called Anchor. A little over a year ago we brought Abraham into our home and Caden was upstaged as the baby of the house! Caden and Abe intially did not get along and they enjoyed stealing each other's toys (like all good brothers do!) Recently they have decided that they like each other and most days you can find Abraham and Caden yelling each other's name and chasing one another around the house. Both are getting close to walking independently and once they do there will be no stopping these 2 brothers from getting into everything!
For Sarah's Covenant Homes, cloth diapers are a huge cost savings. With 163 children, all previously abandoned, then rescued orphans with special needs, diapers are a huge need. By saving precious financial resources, they are able to focus on medical care, like specialist visits for Caden and personalized therapies for Abe. Both of these options not only increase quality of life, but also increase the likelihood of adoption and forever families.
Thank you for the joy you bring to Caden, Abe, and other children just like them.
Today I received a fun update from our Diaper Drop partner in Hyderabad, India. Colleen, foster Mom of Shiloh and Emerald wrote to say how much she appreciates the cloth diapers, made possible by your generous support.
These two ladies are both previously abandoned kiddos with special needs. When they arrived at our Diaper Drop in India, they were severely malnourished and in need of medical care and surgeries. Having them in cloth diapers cuts down on expenses, allowing precious financial resources to be put towards keeping them healthy and treating their medical needs while they wait for forever families.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I encourage you to reach out to me at email@example.com to find out about more amazing ways to get involved with the mission & ministry of Jake's Diapers. I'd love to hear from you.
Thomas is a delightful 11-year old, who loves being read to. He’s known for his sweet smile that lights his whole body up. He lives with cerebral palsy, and uses a wheelchair to get around.
He was abandoned as a baby. Perhaps his family of origin couldn’t afford healthcare for his special needs. Or, perhaps they didn’t know (or want) to know how to care for him. Sadly, they also may have thought a child with special needs would be a burden or a curse. Or, perhaps he had family members pass away. These are all sad options, and it could be any of these or a different reason all together. No matter the reason, Thomas had a rough start at life as an abandoned special needs orphan.
Fast forward to today, and you'll find Thomas and & his best bud Valor rolling around in their wheelchairs sporting modern cloth diapers, a gift from you. While you may never meet Thomas & Valor on this side of heaven, know that you have made their lives better. By having appropriately sized cloth diapers, their basic hygiene needs can be met sustainably, instead of worrying about the expense of disposable diapers. This cost savings is adding up to a better quality of life, as precious financial resources are now available for personalized muscular therapy.
