A Winter of Warmth Support for Poor Families Syria

Winter creates additional hardship for vulnerable families in Syria, particularly those already struggling with poverty, displacement, and rising living costs. Cold weather increases household expenses at a time when many families are already finding it difficult to meet their basic needs.

Equity and Empowerment created this GlobalGiving project to mobilize support for vulnerable families during the winter season and help them meet essential winter needs with dignity.

Since the project was launched on GlobalGiving, $1 has been raised toward the $5,000 fundraising goal. The amount raised through this specific campaign was therefore not sufficient to implement the full winter assistance activities originally envisioned. We believe it is important to communicate this openly to our supporters.

Nevertheless, the needs that inspired this project have not disappeared. Through its broader humanitarian programming in Syria, Equity and Empowerment continues to work with vulnerable families and communities and to seek resources that can respond to urgent and seasonal needs.

This experience has also reminded us that flexible and timely funding is particularly important for winter responses. Families' needs can change quickly, and locally led organizations need to be able to respond when those needs are greatest.

We remain committed to the purpose of this project and to supporting vulnerable Syrian families with assistance that protects their dignity and responds to their priorities.
