Do you have the need to collaborate for change and have been unable to find that tinder to light your fuel for hope? At The Volunteer Center of Trinidad & Tobago, we recognise that there are many persons who want to step up and make a change in their communities by volunteering their skills and time. Many of you are unaware of all the avenues open to effect this change. We stand in this gap by training volunteers and connecting them to NGOs/CBOs aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals
NGOs in Trinidad & Tobago provide life changing services to sustain the social fabric of our country. With our economy at a crossroad between development and decline we are seeing rising unemployment, increasing crime and deepening poverty. This makes the role of NGOs/ CBOs more critical even though many organisations are suffering from reduced funding and are restrained by dwindling human resources in the pursuit of their goals.
The Volunteer Center of Trinidad & Tobago (VCTT) is currently working with a targeted set of NGOs/ CBOs whose projects align with the Sustainable Development Goals on a full spectrum volunteer matching system which includes:- * Monthly training of volunteers on the Sustainable Development Goals * Needs assessment and mapping with partners of all their volunteer needs * Strategic recruitment and connection of skilled volunteers to qualified areas of high impact within the organisation.
VCTT's current engagement is focused on 20 partners from the NGO sector. Throughout this process we are closely working with partners to monitor and evaluate the impact of our engagements on their footprint and capacity development. We forecast that we will be able to extend a robust full spectrum volunteer matching service to a wider net of NGOs/ CBOs within the next year pending the learnings and outcome of the current engagement.
