Sindh Ajrak Welfare Trust builds 02 standalone, solar-powered schools per year in rural Sindh. Each Class I-VIII campus includes 8 classrooms, a science lab, an IT lab, an off-grid 5kW solar system with battery backup, clean drinking water, separate sanitation, and a boundary wall. It delivers uninterrupted, government-curriculum-aligned primary-middle education within villages, eliminating dependence on unreliable grid electricity and distant schools.
Sindh has 7.4 million out-of-school children (44% of school-age population), including 4.1 million girls. The core issue is dropout after Class 5 because most villages have only primary schools-the nearest middle school is kilometres away. Reliable grid electricity is absent, disabling lighting, fans, lab equipment, and water pumps. Floods have damaged infrastructure, teacher absenteeism is rampant, and poverty forces families to prioritize child labour over distant schooling.
It builds complete Class I-VIII schools directly inside villages, removing the distance barrier. Each school has its own off-grid solar system (5kW with batteries) to run lights, fans, computers, science apparatus, and water pumps independent of grid failures. It employs 9 trained staff (Head Teacher, 6 multi-grade teachers, IT/Science instructor) to deliver quality curriculum, creating a visible, trusted alternative that restores parental confidence in schooling.
Drives enrollment and retention beyond primary-especially for girls-breaking Sindh's Class-5 dropout trap. Reduces child labour by offering credible local schooling. Provides early digital and practical science literacy. Creates 9 local jobs per school, boosts community trust, and replaces diesel with clean solar energy. Establishes a replicable, low-cost model for donors/government. Ensures sustainability through local School Management Committees and transparent PCP-certified financial reporti
