The major developments during the quarter ending 2016 was the grant of affiliation upto ‘senior secondary school level (+2)’ by the Central Board of Secondary Education. This was in recognition of the high academic standard of the school run by Shoshit Seva Sangh for the children of the poorest of the poor and the facilities that the school provide to the students in this residential school. The facilities more than meets the norms laid down by CBSE for schools in India. Grant of affiliation by CBSE was a landmark development.
Particular emphasis is now being laid on games and sports facilities for the students of the residential school. Six coaches have been employed for various games and there is total involvement of the students in the two hours games period from 04:30 PM to 06:30 PM. As it becomes dark in winter by 05:00 PM, arrangements have been made for lighting up for the grounds. Some photographs of the students playing volley-ball, basket-ball, badminton, kho-kho and kabbadi are attached. The first semester examinations were held at the school in October, 2016. The overall performance of the students was indeed praiseworthy.
