A Silent Revolution - Helping the helpless

On 26^th January, 2020, the school, Shoshit Samadhan Kendra celebrated the Republic Day of India.
Speaking to the students on the occasion the Chairman told the students that from the coming the Academic Year beginning April / May 2020 facility of smart classes shall be introduced for all the classes in the school. The audio-visual facility will make learning more interesting and even enjoyable.

The sports facilities have been upgraded in a very big way in the school. Artificial turfs have been laid in two hockey fields and three new basket-ball courts and two new volley-ball courts have been constructed. The upgraded facility can cater for more than 600 students in the residential school.

On Mondays, the school holds weekly tests followed by co-curricular activities such as one act plays, quiz contest, debates etc.

Shoshit Samadhan Kendra, the school run by SSS has made significant progress. The 2^nd floor of the school building has been completed and the capacity of the residential school has almost doubled. The school can now accommodate 1000 students. Six new dormitories have been constructed and the 2^nd toilet block has been constructed on the 2^nd floor.

Sports are a very important dimension of overall education.  Basket-ball, volley-ball and hockey facilities are being doubled. The SSK boys have won laurels in inter-school athletics competition. Annual sports day was held on 8^th October. Inter-house competitions were held in hockey, volley-ball, kho-kho, kabbadi, basket-ball and athletics. The boys participated in an impressive march past and an equally impressive display of Yoga.

During the winter vacations from 27^th October to 12^th November students of classes VII, VIII & IX visited a cluster of villages to spend time with the musahar community of each of these villages. They held classes for young children, performed ‘nukkad natak’ (street corner plays) to sensitize the musahar community against child marriage and alcohol. They also distributed blankets to the musahar families of the villages.

All the classrooms of the school will have smart-class facility with its own projector and screen. Workshops have been held to train the members of the faculty to conduct smart-class.

CBSE inspection was conducted in December and the school hopes to have its affiliation extended for another five year beginning April, 2020.
