Today, 100 children are receiving care through Women for Afghan Women’s Children’s Support Center, where they have a safe place to live and access to the essential services every child deserves. Many of the children who come into our care have experienced poverty, displacement, family separation, violence, or other difficult circumstances. At the Center, they receive safe housing, nutritious meals, clothing, education, mental health and psychosocial support, and opportunities for art, play, and connection.
Providing this comprehensive, around-the-clock care costs approximately $3,000 per child each year. This investment goes far beyond providing shelter. It means a child has meals each day, can continue their education, receive support for their physical and emotional well-being, and grow in an environment where they are protected and cared for.
So far, our GlobalGiving community has contributed $1,000 toward this project. We are incredibly grateful to every donor who has chosen to invest in these children. Each contribution brings us closer to our goal of supporting 200 vulnerable children and helps sustain the care already being provided to the 100 children currently at the Center.
Thank you for being part of this work and for believing in a safer future for Afghanistan’s children. With continued support, we can give more children the stability, care, and opportunities they need to learn, heal, and look toward the future with hope.
