Our role as community leaders continues to open as many doors as possible for students to get excited about learning and, specifically, STEM. Yet unspoken bias and other structural barriers mean that we open fewer doors to students of color and kids from low-income and rural communities. When they don’t engage deeply in STEM, we all lose.
While we have not made the financial stride needed to secure the computers for our summer camp, we remain steadfast in our journey to be the change we want to see in disadvantage communities.
Thank you all for continuing to follow Alberta's Lillie as we work towards opening many promisng STEM doors for young learners.
Humbly,
