We have purchased a piece of land where we will build new homes for 12 destitute families in Kenya. These homes will bring comfort and hope that there is a way forward in their poverty stricken lives.
Widows and children are becoming homeless due to their homes being uninhabitable and others are facing eviction from their makeshift homes because the company that owns the land they live on, just want to reclaim it! The new village will be located near Uplands - an area about an hours drive from Nairobi, Kenya. These 12 new homes will be sturdy and weatherproof which is a far cry from the flimsy homes these families currently live in.
We will build twelve, three roomed houses. They will be made of corrugated iron sheets with concrete floors. Each home will have a small garden for growing vegetables, an outside kitchen and separate hygienic toilet.
This gift of a new home will enable families to have more stable lives. They will be weatherproof with concrete floors so that when the rains come, they will not have to move. They will also never again have to live with the threat of eviction.
