Relieved a Lot

HOPING FOR THE WORK
Hope is the strength of the living. As we're together with our beneficiaries and stakeholders continue in our efforts to raise funds for the proposed building of a motorable road into the school compound of Recdot Rehabilitation Schools. Our team enlivens hope to the students by engaging them in cutting of grasses which had outgrown the pathway to the schools. We seize the opportunity to interview some of them and discovered from many that the proposed road would actually help their situation for the better. We continuously assess and measure the happiness our beneficiaries have in comparison to the time when there was no plan of building them a road. It's simply a tremendous joy.

DOING THINGS TOGETHER
In our bid to adapt to the conditions of the students, we walk round the school compound aimlessly. We found this too boring as compared to ambling to the proposed roads which means more exercise and more chances of socializing with passersby. This will mean a lot positively to the children. Nature makes it for all to be interacting with others in a variety of way and to a variety of people. All these are being denied our beneficiaries as there has not been a clear elongation as a road to the schools. We share the pains of these special students in staying monotonously put to a compound for years without without seeing the scenes of the outside school compound. We however hope with them the plan and innovation be made manifest anytime soon.

AUTHORITIES AT SCHOOL

At the school, the authorities always extend their appreciation for our innovation. They simply show this by offering us cola nuts which is the traditional symbol of acceptance and appreciation. We offer them, sometimes, food items which our team contributed to show our love to them and our beneficiaries while awaiting funds to take off our main project. It was on one of this occasion that a teacher in the school donated to us. He equally vowed to volunteer to the project of road building for them when it commenced. In response, C4HDI booked him for training in advance. We pencilled him down for a train the trainers course.
Overall, irrespective of the biting inflation in Nigeria for now, it is expedient that we should materialize the project for it's advantages in building a livable community as well as sustaining the resilience of development.

We sent thank you messages to them and encourage them to continue assisting us. On Duty Now

DECEPTIVE FRENZIED ATMOSPHERE

Approaching the Recdot Rehabilitation School this dry season in Nigeria, a new visitor would rightly say that ambience, right from the major road through the hinter land that the school is situated is lovely. Nay, the dried-up trees, shrubs and grasses that gives access to a far range of views of the area is just seasonal. Even so, the clearly seen evidence that the routes are unmotorable are pointers that the school needs this amenity of a good road. The struggle to choose a good path for the safety of your tyres is really challenging and bitter as logs, cudgels and other debris litter each inch around the way to the school and home. This is in addition to potholes that pose serious risks of damage to the other parts of vehicles that intend to visit the school.
These and more calls for urgent help to build a motorable road to Recdot Rehabilitation School and Home.

REMOVAL OF JUNK BUILDING

Champions For Humanity Development Initiative, C4HDI staff and volunteers were part of the gentle demolition of a building that obliterates the site for building of a one unit new structure of the school. We worked tirelessly and safely, stacking some useful pieces of wood, planks,sheets of zinc and nails in the designated areas. We ensured that all the other workers were in their correct personal protective equipment by offering them hand gloves and hard hats. When it was time for lunch, we shared the meals within us and had to go for water. We bought drinkable water commonly called "pure water" at the roadside shop. On our way to the road, we experienced what it felt like walking through and back from the road. Reptiles are prone to inhabit the path. Eventhough we did not see snakes, we experienced the movement of iguana, lizards and snake-lizzards in their numbers.
There is a very high risk of dangerous reptiles on the pathway to the school.
