The biggest problem with modern war injuries is the risk of infection, which, at times, increases due to the lack of modern surgical power tools (drills and saws) used in complex orthopedic surgeries. In 2 years, we have already donated 7 sets of instruments to the hospital. Each set of power tools can be used to operate on up to 1,000 patients.
There is also a big need for medicines, devices, and bone implants that orthopedists use to save limbs. So, besides tools, we help hospitals purchase devices, bone implants, and consumables, which also allows them to perform high-quality limb-saving surgeries. Thanks to our help, 72 military and civilian patients have already had surgeries that saved their limbs. For orthopedic doctors, we organize online educational seminars on proper use of power tools during surgical procedures.
We are currently raising funds for another set of surgical power tools for complex reconstructive surgeries on the limbs of people injured because of the war, including soldiers, civilians, and children. As always, we are grateful to our amazing donors for their continuous support of our project.
