The terrible war in Ukraine has been lasting for three long years. It brought suffering to young and old; many of them endured injuries from landmine blasts.Every day our traumatologists are treating limb injuries, which make up 74% of all injuries. To minimize the risks of amputation, surgeries on limbs require sophisticated and expensive surgical tools.Deficit of medical equipment coupled with sharp increase in quantity of patients and lack of financing leave hospitals in desperate need of help.
In the wake of this war more than 100,000 Ukrainians may become disabled. Up until now, 1,200 limb surgeries were performed, however, more than 2,000 more patients are still waiting in line to receive surgical treatment, which can save them from permanent disability. High-quality medical instruments, that neither government nor hospitals can afford, are used by orthopedists-traumatologists during surgeries to save patients' limbs after they suffer an landmine explosion.
We provide 2 sets of vital medical equipment for hospitals, which can shorten the duration of surgeries, significantly reduce post complications, and reduce the risk of amputation and lead to improved treatment outcomes for wounded Ukrainians. With the help of power surgical instruments, qualified orthopedists and traumatologists will be able to perform significantly more operations, which will reduce the disability of Ukrainians.
Our project will provide doctors with surgical power tools, which will help doctors offer timely quality limb surgery treatment to Ukrainians injured in landmine explosions. This will help patients save their limbs, avoid permanent disability, improve treatment outcomes and will lead to a healthier and more fulfilling life in the future.
