The demand for surgical instruments is increasing.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing full-scale war in Ukraine and systemic underfunding of healthcare institutions, thousands of our citizens are becoming disabled. Statistics presented by doctors at scientific educational events confirm that the biggest problem with modern injuries is related to the risk of infection, which, in turn, increases due to the lack of modern surgical power instruments (drills and saws) used in complex orthopedic operations.
To reduce infectious exposure in victims of gunshot wounds, we together with our partners, have already purchased hundreds of units of instruments, which have been delivered to over 50 hospitals in Ukraine and are used daily for performing complex reconstructive surgeries.
Thanks to the charitable contributions of our generous donors, we were recently able to purchase another set of power tools and deliver it to one of the specialized hospitals. With this tool, approximately 1,000 surgical operations to save limbs from amputation and loss of function can be performed over the course of a year. Additionally, 2 educational online events were held (as part of the educational series ‘Orto-Trauma-Friday’) to provide surgeons with knowledge on the use of such tools during surgical procedures.
We express our sincere gratitude to our benefactors who support the Ukrainian people during this difficult period of war.
