The Belashenko family fled from a frontline town in Donetsk Oblast and were temporarily sheltered in a hostel near the hospital where the father was receiving treatment. After nine years of battling cancer, he sadly passed away in 2025, leaving behind his wife Natalia and their three children. Now, they have nowhere to live. The mother is in deep grief, the eldest daughter is raising a newborn alone, and the younger children have endured the horrors of war. They dream of a home.
The Belashenko family fled from a frontline town in Donetsk Oblast after losing their father, who had battled cancer for nine years. They were temporarily sheltered in a hostel, but now have nowhere to live. Six people-including a newborn-are without a permanent home. The mother is grieving, the eldest daughter is raising a baby alone, and the younger children are deeply traumatized by war. Their youngest son needs medical care. Without support, the family cannot recover or rebuild their lives.
This project will cover one year of rent in Irpin (near Kyiv), allowing the family to move out of the hostel and settle in a stable environment. The children will be able to attend the nearby Save Ukraine Day Centre free of charge, where they will receive psychological support. Anton will undergo medical examination and receive treatment. With basic safety and care, the family will begin to heal and start a new chapter in life.
By securing stable housing and access to care, this project will help the Belashenko family break the cycle of displacement, grief, and instability. The children will regain a sense of safety, return to learning and development, and build emotional resilience. Natalia, as a mother and grandmother, will have the strength to care for her family. Long-term, this support can restore their dignity, health, and hope for the future.
