A helping hand to 6 families in need in Kosovo

The children outside were playing football with each other and enjoying these summer days, one of these children was Omer, the oldest son of Elizabeth. He went inside the house to call his mom and tell her that somebody was looking for her.

Elizabeth is a 29-year-old woman from Fushe Kosova. She lives with her husband and their 4 children. Neither Elizabeth nor her husband is working, they were unable to complete compulsory education due to living in very vulnerable conditions. Because of that, they are very determined to work on their children's education.

Omer is very curious about geography. He wants to learn more about the countries and visit them. He was full of light and had a bright smile that made my day by telling me about what he will be in the future “I'll be a soccer player, like Lionel Messi, he's an inspiration for me. Messi has accomplished a lot during his career as a soccer player, such as breaking many records and winning a lot of trophies with his club FC Barcelona. I'll build a new house for my family and the others in need” says Omer.

It was afternoon the sun went down because he did his job for today by giving us light, hope, and warmth. But for Shaban, it was like that his life has been tough to him so many times, looking into his eyes I saw pain, sorrow, sadness for the injustices that his life brought to him. He has a son named Faik and he got a brain injury. He is married and has 4 kids.

When Shaban was young he was able to work and help his family, but now he is not younger anymore and he is not able even to take care of himself. The sickness did its work, now he got diagnosed with diabetes and his health condition is not looking good. He said to me that he did also an appointment for placing stents in the heart, but he is waiting to call him.

He touched my heart with his words "my wife cheated on me and abandoned me for another man”. He said my wife couldn't resist anymore, on these conditions so she fled away. It's not even her fault everybody got a life so you have to live it. I'm not blaming her for anything I just hope she is happy with whoever and wherever she is.

On the other side, he was the superhero in his family, a man that did survive from a lot of difficulties through his hard life and took on his battles. That's how I see him, as a really strong man who didn't give up easily.

He said my last wish is to see my family together and have enough food on the table. When dinner comes is hard to not have anything to put on the table. He is thankful for all of your donations that you did to his family. He's wishing for the future of his grandsons and granddaughters to be in a better condition and to have a better chance in education and a better life, because he never got the chance to it.
