Title: : When $50 Feeds a Village: The Annual Kids Feast That Bridges Gaps
Introduction
In December 2024, a modest donation of $50 through the GlobalGiving platform, supplemented by local in-kind contributions, sparked a transformative initiative. This initial contribution grew to $500 in cash and $800 in-kind donations, collectively making a profound impact on the lives of rural children and youth. This report highlights the success of the Annual Kids Feast, its community engagement efforts, and the tangible outcomes achieved.
OUR CONSTITUENTS: A STORY OF HOPE
The Annual Kids Feast focuses on rural communities in Ghana, where children and youth face significant hardships that hinder their well-being and development. These challenges include limited access to education, healthcare, and basic necessities. Through this initiative, we aim to promote dignity, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging while alleviating feelings of isolation and neglect.
ACTIVITIES
The 2024 event was designed to:
Raise awareness about the benefits of education and the challenges faced by rural communities.
Engage the community in supporting our cause and addressing systemic issues.
Promote health, dignity, and self-esteem among children and youth.
Foster a sense of care and value for marginalized individuals.
Community Engagement
We actively involved community leaders, including traditional and religious figures, to advocate for the importance of education. Their influential support has encouraged families to prioritize education and keep their children in school.
FUNDS RECEIVED
Cash Donations: $500
In-Kind Donations: $800
These funds were utilized to organize the feast, provide educational materials, and support community development initiatives.
SUCCESS STORY: MANDOKWAA VILLAGE
From 2008 to 2017, Seek And Save Mission Ministries transformed the lives of over 500 children and their families in Mandokwaa Village near Agona Bobikuma and surrounding areas. Key achievements include:
Construction of a 6-classroom school building, office, toilet, and football field, benefiting over 500 children.
Provision of 5 boreholes and hand-dug wells to improve access to clean water.
Implementation of entrepreneurship programs for 30 women, successfully alleviating poverty.
Though the village was invited to the 2024 feast, we have planned to host the 2025 feast there to further strengthen our impact.
INDIVIDUALS HELPED
Direct Support: 30 out-of-school children were sent back to school, and their families received training to increase their income.
Indirect Support: Over 2,000 children and families benefited from the feast, entertainment, and community programs.
2025 UPCOMING PROGRAM
The 2024 program was a resounding success, but the journey continues. We seek your continued support to meet the growing needs of these communities and make the 2025 Annual Kids Feast even more impactful. Together, we can bridge gaps and create lasting change in rural Ghana.
Finally
The Annual Kids Feast is more than an event—it’s a movement that transforms lives, one donation at a time. With your support, we can ensure that no child is left behind.
