A $50 Donation: Small Gift, Huge Impact

By Seek And Save Mission Ministries | Project Leader

Introduction

In December 2024, we received a modest donation of just $50 through the GlobalGiving platform, and .local donations that were in-kind However, this seemingly small contribution made a significant difference in the lives of rural children and youth. With this funding, we were able to organize the annual Kids Feast, an event that brought joy, nourishment, and a sense of community to those who often go without.

The donation helped us provide meals, educational materials, and recreational activities, creating an unforgettable experience for the children. We witnessed smiles, laughter, and a renewed sense of hope among the participants. This experience underscored the power of collective generosity, demonstrating that even a small amount can lead to substantial positive change in the lives of those who need it most.

We are deeply grateful for the support. We invite you to join us in making a meaningful difference in their lives this year 2025! Not only nourishment but also educational, and health resources that foster joy, love and peace.

About our constituent.

Ghana, located in West Africa, is a country rich in culture and history. However, many rural areas face significant challenges, including high dropout rates for girls due to economic pressures and societal norms. Education is vital for empowering these young women and fostering gender equity.

Stories  from children facing hardship  including Kwame and Nana

 (17 years) and  (15 years)

Kwame and Nana lived with their single mother in their uncle’s house in Accra. Both boys are gay, and despite repeated warnings from their mother and uncle to abandon their involvement in LGBTQ+ activities, they refused to comply. Their uncle, a retired military officer, subjected them to severe physical abuse, often whipping them with thick wire and locking them in a room. They were deprived of food and education for months.

In a desperate attempt to survive, the boys collected what they described as scrap metal (though their uncle claimed it was car parts) and sold it for money. Their uncle and mother continued to mistreat them in an effort to force them to renounce their LGBTQ+ identity, ultimately driving them to flee to our organization’s office in the Central Region of Ghana.

Upon their arrival, a friend inadvertently revealed their location to their uncle, who then reported them to the police, accusing them of stealing 15,000 Ghana cedis and 500 US dollars from his room. The boys admitted to taking only 100 dollars.

 Five Children (Ages 8-17)

These children are the offspring of LGBTQ+ individuals who are currently in hiding due to persecution. We are providing them with shelter, food, medical care, and education. All seven individuals came into our custody in August 17, 2024

These children  and many others including Kwame and Nana  are now in school but still need support

We are inspired by initiatives that create real, lasting change, and that’s exactly what’s happening in Ghana at Seek And Save Mission Ministries. Thanks to the Seek And Save Mission Ministries initiative for poor Children, Kwame and Nana  has now gained admission to senior high school.

Your contribution has helped us change the lives of many children like Kwame and Nana , providing them with the opportunity to pursue their education and build a better future. Together, we can empower these young ones and help them overcome the challenges they face. Thank you for considering our report and for your continued support. Your generosity makes a significant difference!
