Facing the standard of living of the moroccan desert' families, buying books isn't a custom. They have other priorities to cope with before. No one of the desert children have book, however, books present a lot of benefits for them : new activity, vocabulary and reading improvements, aknwoledgement of a langage, help at school. To make them taking advantages of these, we are giving book. It's their own book, in their langage. We hope to give a book at 2000 desert children through their schools.
Families in the Moroccan desert have very low living standards. Work is very rare in isolated desert villages. They therefore cannot provide their children with the necessary things to go to school and continue their studies in good conditions. The priorities are elsewhere (food, emergency). Since the creation of the association, we have focused on education to allow children to have a more serene life. For this, we help both school structures and families in need.
Handing over a book to a child, his own book, is an action that complements the school equipment that we carry out. This allows children to benefit from the advantages of reading: development of creative thinking, improvement of reading level, mastery of their language, creation of an activity outside of school, discovery of the world ... school children lend each other their books, which enriches the children's discoveries. Giving a book to a child helps, to help him in his schooling.
The underlying objective of this project is to support children in their schooling, to encourage them to go as far as possible. In the medium term, the children of the desert obtaining good results will be able to join the college in the city of Rissani. Putting in place actions for access to education and the pursuit of schooling is a means of promoting social ascent in the desert and thus improving living conditions there.
