Kerala has just seen its worst floods in nearly a century, with several animals stranded and left to fend for themselves. This is a special appeal on behalf of these animals that we are trying to help give a second chance. Thousands of animals have been rescued and help will be needed for a long while when the spotlight fades and others leave. That is when it is most needed; when disease sets in and food runs out. This effort is a fund-raiser that will help re-home several pets from harm's way.
The funds generated through this project will help provide much needed medicines, food and supplies that are crucial to re-home and rehabilitate several animals that have been left stranded during the unexpected floods that ravaged the state. These animals have been separated from their owners and left in dangerous conditions that their rescue and rehabilitation will need significant time, resources and funds. Any small contribution will enable rescue workers to provide timely help to rescues.
This project will provide the rescue workers quick relief that is much needed to move the stranded animals to safety and to provide them with nutrition, medicines and supplies which would help prevent them from catching diseases. The bare-foot marathon planned by one of the team members will not only help generate funds, but also help create awareness on the plight of the voiceless in such events of calamity and natural disasters where animals are the last ones to be remembered.
The project will create a community that cares for animals when disaster strikes and will enable them to maintain them, which will provide thousands of animals better lives. We will be creating awareness about unpredictable environmental disasters that affect humans and animals alike and help empower many humans towards showing compassion and kindness towards animals in the events of natural disasters and calamities to create a better world for all species.
