This project will further ICF's vital mission of supporting the most vulnerable children in Iraq: orphans, displaced children, and those living in extreme poverty. These kids have already faced unimaginable hardship and continue to endure severe challenges: lack of access to education, limited healthcare, and a constant threat of poverty and violence. Every dollar donated will directly impact a child's life, providing them with the critical resources they need not just to survive, but to thrive.
Iraq has faced significant challenges in rebuilding its healthcare system after years of conflict. Nearly 1.2 million children under 5 years old suffer from malnutrition, while many others face untreated diseases and lack of access to vaccination programs. Around 3 million children under 18 are out of school and many of them are living in environments where they face physical and emotional trauma, and are at risk of being exploited or forced into dangerous situations.
This project will provide essential medical care, literacy programs, and legal support for up to 1,000 children throughout the year. $25 can provide school supplies for a full classroom. $50 can cover medical expenses for a child in urgent need. $100 can fund critical after-school programs. $500 can fund a month of education support for a group of children.
In the past few years ICF has positively impacted the lives of over 10000 children through its comprehensive programs. From providing legal protection and support for at-risk youth, to resolving cases that help children access essential services like education and healthcare, ICF's work addresses the urgent needs of vulnerable children in Iraq. With increased funding, these life-changing services can be scaled up, reaching even more at-risk children and offering them a brighter, safer future.
