Studies show that yoga and mindfulness reduce anxiety, increase attention, and improve cognitive performance in children. For students in remote, underserved villages in India, yoga is a simple & sustainable way to engage young minds, boost potential, and improve quality of life for years to come. Help Karuna-Shechen teach yoga skills to improve the lives of 1,000 children in remote Indian villages.
Most children who attend school in rural parts of India receive a poor education due to high teacher-student ratio, lack of materials, and poorly planned education programs. Families who attempt to improve education for their children have few options aside from paying for a private education, which is often out of reach financially and geographically.
Yoga was born in India, and its many benefits are celebrated around the world. By teaching yoga to students in underserved Indian villages, we can support developmental growth and boost cognitive performance - a sustainable way to increase the benefits and quality of education children receive. It is a simple & sustainable way to engage young minds and boost their potential. Donations of $10, $50, and $100 will help Karuna-Shechen teach a positive, beneficial skill to 1,000 children in need.
The 1,000 children reached through this project will not only participate in yoga classes, but will also learn tools to manage stress and increase concentration, as well as develop positive physical and emotional practices. Investing a few dollars in yoga will result in a huge boost to the quality of education students receive. Together, we will give children a better chance to learn, develop, and carry these benefits with them throughout their lives.
