End Report for this phase

Workshops in Zywiec
Workshops in Zywiec

Our first appeal saw us  raising money for the purchase of craft bags and wool supplies for Ukrainian refugees mainly based in Poland, but also co-operating with groups in Germany, Holland, Scandinavia and the USA.

Up until September we had also been focused on providing a wide range of therapeutical activities. Our activities in the period included many childrens workshops in parrallel to other Foundation activities, in our summer schools and as evening activities for kids. More than 150 children have particapted in crafting events in Poland since we started the programme in March. More than 200 adults have participated in wool craft events of the programme.

We now have regular craft groups established in Poland as well as in Germany. We have a super Wool Team of more than 30 very talented Ukrainian crafters who produce goods for sale and to showcase Ukrainian craft skills. We took the occassion to take lots of beautiful goods this September to a international trade fair in Bavaria in Benediktbeuren. The next challenge will be to make seasonal products for Christmas fairs.

Our work continues and a new appeals page can be found on these GlobalGiving pages for the next phase. We continue to pack and distribute craft bags as a means of providing support and therapy to Ukrainians displaced or made refugees by the conflict. An increasing amout of our work is also now focused on chidrens programmes where we conduct wool crafting as a tool of Art Therapy.

We also now think to the future where we channel the skills of our talented crafters towards a social enterprise to be considered in the near future to provide those who can, to make some additional income in these difficult times

It is with considerable gratitude we thank our donors from this first of what we expect to be many appeals for our Ukrainians in our care. Thank you all so much and please help us continue with this work.
