MIcro Project: Help us Install a Water Tank for School Kids!

Location:
Netrokona District, Bangladesh

Beneficiaries: 500+ students

Project Budget: USD 1,000

Implementing Organization: Green Fund Initiative, in partnership with our local partner BCSSC

Project Overview

We are pleased to report that the “Help Us Install a Water Tank for School Kids!”project has been successfully completed.

The project was designed to address the lack of reliable access to clean drinking water at a remote rural school in Netrokona District, Bangladesh. With more than 500 students depending on the school’s water facilities, the installation of a large-capacity water storage system was an important step toward creating a healthier and safer learning environment.

What We Accomplished

With the support of GlobalGiving donors, we successfully installed a 1,000-liter water tank on a 20 foot concrete pillar at the school.

The completed system now provides the school with a reliable water storage facility, helping ensure that students have access to water for drinking and daily needs, particularly during periods when the regular water supply is limited.

The project directly benefits more than 500 students, helping to:

  • Improve access to clean and reliable drinking water.
  • Reduce the risk of dehydration during hot weather.
  • Support better hygiene and overall student well-being.
  • Create a healthier and more comfortable school environment.
  • Support regular attendance and students’ ability to concentrate in class.

Implementation Delay

We sincerely apologize for submitting this completion report later than originally planned.

During the implementation period, the project area experienced heavy and persistent rainfall. The school is located directly beside a river, and the river overflowed and reached the school yard. These difficult weather and site conditions made it unsafe and impractical to carry out the construction and installation work according to the original schedule.

Rather than compromise the safety or quality of the work, implementation was temporarily delayed until conditions improved. We are pleased that the work has now been completed successfully.

Impact

The newly installed water tank provides an important and lasting improvement to the school’s water infrastructure. Students no longer have to depend entirely on an inadequate or unreliable water supply during periods of shortage.

Reliable access to water can help students stay hydrated, maintain better hygiene, remain comfortable during hot weather, and participate more effectively in their classes. The facility is also expected to continue benefiting the school community for years to come.

Thank You to Our Donors

Green Fund Initiative sincerely thanks GlobalGiving and the generous donors who supported this project.

Your contributions made it possible to turn a basic but urgent need into a practical and lasting improvement for more than 500 rural schoolchildren.

We are especially grateful for your patience and understanding regarding the implementation delay caused by the severe rainfall and river flooding.

The project is now successfully completed, and the school community can benefit from the new water storage facility.

Thank you for helping us make clean and reliable water more accessible to children in rural Bangladesh.
