In the last year, WAG has grown exponentially! We're helping and housing more dogs than ever before. Since moving to our new shelter, we have realized getting dogs to and from the site is a major challenge. So, the next part of our growth is to purchase a vehicle. This will reduce our reliance on volunteers' vehicles or high-cost taxis, make our daily operations more efficient, and offer timely interventions and veterinary services to dogs in need.
We need our own wheels! Relying on volunteers to lend vehicles or using local taxi drivers (who are often reluctant to transport dogs) is not sustainable or practical. With our ongoing rescue work as well as new projects on the horizon, we desperately need a WAG vehicle to safely and reliably transport dogs and supplies to and from the shelter.
Our aim is to purchase a hardbody motorbike (check out the photos for an example). With a motorbike, our shelter staff can access dogs with little notice in emergencies. The bike will also make everyday operations easier. For example, the capacity to move donated bags of food or other essential supplies, the ability to transport dogs to higher level vet care if needed, a way to bring WAG dogs to an off-site adoption event, transport supplies to community outreach projects, and more!
Your support today and every day enables us to continue the core work we do on a daily basis. We always have bills to pay and dogs to rescue! Money raised here will go exclusively towards purchasing the motorbike, which will have a huge impact on our long-term sustainability. Our regular operating budget cannot afford this expense without this campaign. We are so grateful for your support!
