Help us fund the urgent veterinary care, specialised treatment and rehabilitation needed for a severely injured white rhino baby, as well as the immediate care for two newly rescued calves. The first calf was severely injured and immune-compromised, sustaining extensive wounds, while one of the newly rescued calves also arrived with injuries that are now being treated. With the right care, they have a chance not just to survive, but one day to return to the wild where they belong.
A rhino baby around 1-2 weeks old, was rescued with severe injuries across his body, multiple open wounds and a very compromised immune system. He is extremely vulnerable without the proper care. Shortly after his rescue, two additional rhino calves were found alone without their Moms and brought to safety. One of these calves also arrived with wounds that are now being treated. Without specialised care, the impact of losing their mothers can be life threatening.
Funds raised will directly support these calves' life-saving treatment and long-term rehabilitation. This includes: comprehensive veterinary care and ongoing medical assessments, diagnostic tests, medications including antibiotics, pain management and supportive therapies. Specialised wound care materials. Milk supplements and nutritional support essential for growing calves, as well as the intensive daily care required for young rhinos recovering from injury and trauma.
By giving these calves the highest standard of care now, we give them the chance to recover and follow a path back to the wild. The ultimate goal is rewilding and release into a protected ecosystem, where they can live as wild rhinos and contribute to the future of their species. Successful rehabilitation means more rhinos returning to the landscape, strengthening wild populations, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring these young survivors' stories become ones of resilience, not loss.
