Upgrade a Library and Empower Khmer Children

A microproject by Village Earth Vetted since 2011 Site Visit Verified

This project will enable a much-needed upgrade to our library by providing new games, puzzles, books, flashcards, art supplies and furniture. Run entirely by our Library and Education Assistant, our library empowers children in our commune knowledge, creativity and fun.

The children in our commune don't have access to books at their homes and the supplies at public school are very limited. As a result, many of our students don't know basic Khmer and are not able to think creatively and independently.

Our library provides a safe environment for our children to learn, study and play every day. Our dedicated Library and Education Assistant ensures that our students receive attention and assistance with their language skills. Our use of games, flashcards, puzzles, books and art ensures our students can improve their knowledge and confidence whilst working independently or as a team.

Long-Term Impact

By upgrading our library, we are investing in the future of our students. The short-term impact will be increased knowledge and confidence. The long-term impact will increase the chance of our students staying in public school and HHA much longer due to their increased abilities and love for education.
