The goal of this microproject is digitizing the communication and instruction of art education. The Covid 19 pandemic has created a situation, and we cannot risk the children gathering in as a work group. We would train the art teachers/trainers to use smart phone apps, to record the lessons/ training materials as audio/video files to share with our community children. Most parents have a basic smart phone. Parents will be guided to help the kids use the materials
Currently all the children have been forced to discontinue their classical, performing and visual art training. By sending the learning materials they can continue to learn and practice. Further the Art instructors will evolve a new teaching methodology that will digitize the art instruction, and enable the community to learn remotely.
This micro project will share the funding in two ways. (a) the community children will receive support from the centre for the data charges. The payment will be directly made to the phone company. Some of the companies offer students' package @ INR 149-249 a month for the mobile usage. This will help them access the materials. The Teachers will be supported to pay for the recording/digitizing the learning materials and and share via their smart phone data.
Knowing is growing. This project aims at embracing the underprivileged; removing the dichotomy in school education and learning; enabling self-discovery; and tapping into different artistic potentials. Critical and pro-social thinking and action form the core of this program. This would help learners gain a holistic approach to life. They are self-actualized, cohesive, and better participants in a harmonious and meaningful democracy. The processes evolve, transform, and empower simultaneously.
