Most Respected Donors,
Greetings to you from HEARDS – India!
HEARDS Project is essentially meant for children in the age group of 6 to 14 years. It’s a bridge between the formal school system and the community children. These children were working in most hazardous industrial areas like small cigar making, match box industries, incense stick making industries, granite quarry industry, gravel industries, brick kilns, hotels and other hazardous areas in a holistic manner, combining interventions across the district and community levels for reinforcement, integration, and learning. These children are either school dropouts or first generation learners. Their out of school status owns to the various family or systematic reasons.
I have the proud and privilege as the Chairman of HEARDS, to present this progress report during this quarter. Unfortunately we did not have any funds through GlobalGiving towards this micro project our HEARDS Board members have worked hard and found successful to raise some local donations towards this project.
Children are provided with the education materials like note books, copy writing books, slates, pens, pencils, etc. along with the educational calendars which help efficiently in learning basic calculations and also to learn easily English and Telugu language (the local language). During this year children were also provided with a school bag to carry books, which make them feel more enthusiastic. It made them feel that they are also in a school as regular school going children do.
Moreover, the project aimed to provide a comprehensive package of services, addressing the demand for child labor and supply factors, as well as the diverse needs of child laborers, at-risk children, and their families. In line with HEARDS strategic objectives, the project offered such services as improved access to quality education and other basic social services and support for improving livelihoods.
We are extremely glad and have a lot of interest to this work, as providing education to these marginalized communities is one of the greatest thing happened in our life. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the donors of GlobalGiving for funding the rehabilitation center which make the children regain their childhood and education. HEARDS looks forward to more opportunities of taking these concepts to the marginalised communities in order to build a developed nation.
I request you to please kindly extend your cooperation in future as its an inevitable project and the donation people like you make a significance difference among these poor and downtrodden children. Please kindly share this project with your friends and relatives as every single penny is very vital towards regaining their lost childhood.
Thanking you,
With fond regards,
