By providing simple learning tools to ill and recovering infants and children, we will help prevent failure-to-thrive. In the Rescue Center, there often more than 60 children recovering from extreme malnutrition and other medical challenges. While they are physically recovering, they need basic stimuli to encourage brain development as well.
This project will provide a total of 30 durable, easily cleanable toys for the 50 recovering children to help stimulate brain development. By stimulating brain growth and development, long term positive outcomes become more realistic.
This microproject will provide the necessary funding for purchase and delivery of the toys.
As our partner organizations in Haiti continue to have their diaper needs solved, they are able to save funds and plan for future improvements in their care. This can mean adding educational programs, offering better healthcare, improved quality of food (more protein!) - all steps that set these babies up for long term survival and productive members of society.
