The progress of the micro-project "Toilets for Persons with Disabilities," funded by the generous contribution of USD 730 from the Donors of GlobalGiving. We appreciate your support and are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in the utilization of the funds. The objective of the micro-project was to enhance accessibility and sanitation facilities for persons with disabilities by constructing and equipping 10 toilets that cater specifically to their needs. The project aims to promote inclusivity, dignity, and improved hygiene for individuals with disabilities.

Progress Achieved:

  1. Site Selection and Preparation: We have identified suitable locations for the construction of accessible 03 toilets, considering factors such as proximity to communities with a higher population of persons with disabilities. The sites were cleared and prepared for construction.
  2. Construction Initiation: Construction work is completed at all designated sites. We worked closely with local contractors and adhering to construction timelines to ensure the timely completion of the accessible toilets.
  3. Community Engagement: To foster community involvement and ownership, we have conducted awareness sessions on the importance of accessible toilets. Feedback from community members, especially persons with disabilities, has been instrumental in shaping the project's design and implementation.
  4. Accessibility Features: The toilets are constructed with careful consideration of accessibility features, including widened doorways, grab bars, non-slip flooring, and appropriate signage. These elements aim to create a barrier-free environment for persons with disabilities.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: Regular site visits and monitoring activities are conducted to oversee the construction progress, address any challenges, and ensure that the project aligns with the initially proposed objectives and budget.
  6. Next Steps:

    1. Strengthen community engagement initiatives to ensure long-term sustainability.
    2. Conduct a thorough evaluation upon project completion to assess impact and gather feedback from beneficiaries.
    3. Continue fund raising for completing 07 more toilets in the community, which could not constructed because of lesser funding.

We sincerely appreciate the support provided by the Donors of GlobalGiving, which has enabled us to make meaningful strides toward improving the living conditions of persons with disabilities through enhanced sanitation facilities. We remain dedicated to the successful execution of the micro-project and will provide further updates as milestones are achieved.

If you have any inquiries or require additional information, please feel free to contact us. Once again, thank you for your ongoing support.
