The HALO Trust's work responding to the Afghanistan earthquake has continued with teams having so far cleared access to 373 homes, provided medical support to 782 people, distributed food and cooking supplies to 310 families and provided daily water tanker deliveries. Part of our response was to assist the national disaster management authority, which requested HALO’s support in delivering donated tents.
With winter approaching, the need for rubble clearance is critical so that people can rebuild their homes and so that aid can reach isolated areas that have been cut off from blocked and damaged roads. We estimate it will take at least two months to make homes safe and clear rubble to ensure affected villages can recover.
HALO will continue to support communities, ensuring they are not forgotten as media attention moves on. We are truly grateful to everyone supporting this project. You are making a real difference for families in Afghanistan impacted by the earthquake. Thank you!
