The ability project seeks to provide adaptive equipment to integrate persons with disabilities in the community. so far we been able to make movable equipment using card boards and news papers to 5 children with disabilities, and this helps them to move around instead of been at one place. contributing to this project will help us reach out to hundreds of persons with disabilities that society keep watching them suffer.
The people of Upper East Region specifically Bongo District have the belief that person born been disable is an evil child and therefore are not making effort to support these disable persons in the communities. These children sometimes are left to stay in the rooms. persons with disability will be giving an equipment such us wheel chairs, clutches, etc which will help them move out and feel they are part of the world.
The ability project will help integrate persons with disability by using card boards and news papers to make equipment for persons with disabilities which will help them move from one place to another, and those who want to go to school but do not have the means can also go, This will help them actualize their dreams and aspirations that will enable them to also contribute to the development of their communities and the world at large.
In the long term, the community of sumbrungu will be one stop shop in Ghana for all crafts and baskets. The women will have sustainable employment and income and hence being able to take care of their children especially the girl child. Rural urban migration especially school going girls with be reduced substantially due mothers being able to provide their basic needs
