Since ancient period the temple forests in India have been serving many spiritual and religious purposes that the sacred acts to integrate the benefits of temple forests in rural development. 150 temple forests are protected and promoted in this project. 100 - 200 important environment valued trees are planted in each temple and watering for one year. Motivation and awareness for community are on tree plantation and conservation. 1000 kinds of tree and herbal existing there are conserved.
Temple forest is under risk condition and damage because Temple forest is only without destruction and unlawful tree felling. Spiritual belief and fear are stopping people from the damage and further each temple is owned and special praying rights since olden days by local people and so it is conserved as community property and spiritual rights. Each of the forest gives more oxygen, village environment and ozone development. Although 1000 of flora fauna are being destroyed, they are surviving
Motivation to community, forest committee formation in the villages, where the forest is existing, identification of name, age and importance of plants, animal and important species, new saplings planting, existing plants conserving without destruction, will be main activities. 100-200 saplings will be planted in each temple. It will give more oxygen to the villages and supportive to ozone, biodiversity conservation and endangered species existing.
In future we can see the most of vegetation and animal species in the temple forest only because in outside they will be become as endangered or disappeared. Thousand of species will be protected from the endangered condition. Knowledge and awareness on temple forest and conservation will be consolidated on community. Sustainable conservation on the forest and extension of forest area and development of biodiversity condition will be achieved. 150 temple forests will be developed and conserved.
