This project will contribute towards the lunchtime meal programme and support the multi-vitamin, iron and worming treatment programme for fifty vulnerable children.
With the majority of parents working as casual workers in the salt fields, farmlands or as contractual labour their meagre income has reduced further due to the ongoing restrictions resulting from the pandemic. Unable to give their children with the basic health care and nutrition at home, they depend on The Sunshine Charity to provide that one nutritious meal and pharmaceutical needs of their children.
The Sunshine Charity will be able to continue with these two programmes and allow the children to enjoy perhaps the only wholesome meal in a safe environment and receive the required multi-vitamin and iron to maintaining the expected child nutritional levels.
The organization purchased a block of land and built a permanent day care and preschool to achieve a long-term impact on the community. It has been fifteen years since the centre was established and today, it is considered as one of the safest spaces to learn, create and grow. With their greatest needs provided free of charge. the children are able to regain their childhood and be well equipped to transfer to the local primary school.
