Durga is 20 year old adivasi girl belonging to Barela tribe. She lives with her family in a remote village in Madhya Pradesh. In her community, girls are not encouraged to study and are married off at a very tender age. Her father encouraged his daughter to study. She walked 10 km every day to complete her schooling and later joined computer course. She wants to study computers and then be employed in a multinational company. She wants to make her father proud and take the family out of poverty.
India's has a total population of 1.22 billion out of which 591.4 million are women. They are discriminated on all fronts of life hence marginalized. Considering this, Government of India has formulated development policies to address this. But still it reaches only few as they are either uneducated or there is lack of information. This project will support girls to continue their education. It will provide skills training and further motivate them to earn.Through this 100 girls will be touched.
AKRSP's Yuvajunction mandate is to help rural youths to get equal opportunity in the employment market be it job, self employment and social enterprise. It provides trainings on skills to increase the employability / entrepreneurial opportunities to rural youths especially girls. Career guidance for appropriate career selection are organised and motivated to continue studies. It also coordinates with existing schemes of the government so that youths specially girls have access to these schemes
This project will inform, educate and enhance employability skills to 100 women of the economically backward class so that they are better equipped to face the bad times of life. This project will help them to be placed / set up an enterprise. This will help them to support in their family income that will help their families to rise out of poverty which in turn will give them their own identity.
