Thank you for providing sewing training

By vincent paul | Director

Respected Donor

Warm greetings from CHHASE.

Thank you for your generous contributions for the poor rural women through esteemed organization GlobalGiving.Your support helped us to provide sewing training to poor women and our trained women, who are not able to buy a sewing machine are waiting for a sewing machine to start their own business. In the mean time, we have adviced them to avail our job opportunity to earn to fight financial hardship.

We all know, skills development trainings are better opportunities to come out of poverty. CHHASE primary objective may be providing education to under privileged children. But if the parents get opportunity to earn, they themselves can educate their children without depending on help from some one like us. Hence CHHASE started skills trainings for rural poor to develop the poor communities. ( few training photos are attached )

As part of the CHHASE activities, we are identifying the economically disadvantaged  poor in rural areas, where the women are facing lot of problems to run their families, educate their children and timely medical support to their family members. In our analysis most of the poor women are lack of skills to earn, because of poverty, descrimination among the community. Some of the women are forcedly send to the near by landlords houses to work as domestic servant maids, to take care of the small baby children.  Thus their children are becoming child labors and drop outs from school.

We are motivating the Poor women about the importance of learning skills like sewing, embroidery, computer training,Artificial jewelry, beautician Etc. Apart from trainings, CHHASE provide sewing machines, Embroidery cots free of cost to start their own business. We provide self business guidence and job opportunity also. With this timely skills tarinings and free machinery to start their business,They are able to send their children to school with out drop out, feed their family and provide timely medical treatment to their family members. The women are very happy for this kind of gesture and expressed their sincere gratitude.

One of our beneficiary said that " I am from a most poor family. my family consist of my husband and three children. I was doing house keeping work in my neighbours houses and earn very less which is not sufficient to feed my family. My husband also illiterate and go for cooly work.he work not even 10 days in a month.what ever he earn, he spend more than half for his drinks( Alcohol). Six months back, i met one of my friend in neighbouring village, when i went to a marriage function. She was doing tailoring work, she told me about CHHASE free trainings and said that she also learned and got the sewing machine from CHHASE. Immediately, i approached CHHASE, but they said, now training batch is halfway through and told me to leave my address to contact for the next training.

I got a call for training, but i thought if i go for training, how to feed my family losing my small earning. With confidence i approached CHHASE director and explained my difficulty. He arranged a part time work in a general store. there i have to weigh and pack Dal, condiments etc. With my strong will power i faced all the difficulties and completed my training. Keeping my family condition view, CHHASE provided me a sewing machine to start own sewing business. Now i am earning Rs.200 average per day, which is sufficient for my family. During training, Mr.Vincent paul, Director told us that this training provision is funded by globalgiving donors. I am thanking globalgiving and my donors for their generosity,"
