Mary (15) hails from a village in Ongole. Her parents came to Sphoorti in search of work. His father Nagaraju works as a Driver in Cherlapally. Her mother is a homemaker. Her brother Daniel stopped studying after STD X and is working in a small firm. Mary will move to STD X now. Your support will help her complete STD X and pursue higher education.
This story is about Mary who is one of the most studious children in her school. Childhood can be very harsh if a child is born in abject poverty and parents are not in a position to send children to school. Mary is such example of a child with hardships right in the beginning of life. In 2015, her father bought a car to use it is as a Cab and unfortunately ran into huge debt. He along with his family left Hyderabad. Mary's life was disturbed as she lost an academic year.
Mary's mother approached us for support so that Mary can continue studies. By then Mary was very disheartened as her studies were disturbed. We took the help of school authorities, community members and a local counselor to help her. After she joined school again, she began to show interest in studies as well as arts and sports. When she grows up, Mary wants to become a software engineer and support children. Your support will make sure Mary completes STD X and pursue higher education.
Each day, we keep getting requests for admission of children who lost their parents in tragic situations. This project provides long-term support 200 children allowing them to break out of illiteracy and poverty. It project brings improvement of children's health, awareness of their rights and makes them more employable in the long run.
