Challenge

DAKTARI is Martin's retirement home. He was a major part of the endangered species breeding program here in Hoedspruit for 10 years. Now, a retiree he is a thrilling and memorable part of our education program for the local children. You would be helping us insure his happiness.

Solution

Although quite a bit older than wild cheetahs, Martin is still a healthy, hearty cheetah. He is fed chickens and local game (when available) and we work with him to keep him active. Your support will fund his food, care and activities.

Long-Term Impact

A positive and clean environment with healthy and cared-for animals serves to push our impact on the children, and consequently on the community. Likewise, through the education of the future generations of the area, we aim to make a lasting impact on the local wildlife. In addition to this, we hope that the animals we have now, like the mongoose, dassies, a bush baby, or a family of meerkats amongst others, may be reintroduced into the wild when they are fully rehabilitated.
