In view of the global pandemic of Coronavirus, AWAG plans to help distressed migrant workers in Ahmedabad in relation to their basic food needs. Alongside, basic awareness on hygiene & social distancing will also be woven in. The process has been initiated & we have been receiving demands for meeting food supplies for more people. With the high vulnerability of these communities, we seek support in providing basic food requirements to prevent further damage arising from hunger and starvation.
It is a well known fact that the poor and marginalized communities are most vulnerable. Women and children are at a higher risk. Their vulnerability is at further stake at the current crisis situation that they are facing. In this hour of need we seek support in providing basic food requirements to these migrant workers so as to prevent further damage and health issues arising from malnutrition, hunger and starvation.
AWAG plans to help distressed and homeless migrant workers in Ahmedabad with relation to their basic food needs. Alongside, basic awareness related to maintaining hygiene of their surroundings as well as maintaining social distancing will also be touched upon. We have already initiated the process and have been receiving demands for meeting the requirements for food supplies for more people who are left homeless and distressed.
The beneficiaries of the project will have lesser vulnerabilities to cope in relation to their nutritional needs. The project will also help in preventing further mortality in these times of the grave epidemic.
