For just $500, YOU can support Annet's education for the academic year! Annet is 14 years old, and is a Secondary 1 student at Ishaka Adventist College. Her favorite subject is chemistry, and she works tirelessly to improve her performance every day.
Uganda has the highest number of HIV/AIDS orphans in the world, and many of them live in impoverished circumstances. Female students without strong support systems are less likely to complete their education, despite the known benefits of having an education. Without an education, the girls will continue to be ensnared by the cycle of poverty; however, YOU can ensure that Annet continues to receive her education, which will allow her a better life!
All of our secondary students, such as Annet, receive scholarships to attend school. This covers all expenses and fees, and also includes providing transportation to and from the school. Hope receives daily care and support, as well as reproductive health counseling. This helps alleviate some of the strain of being an adolescent girl, a difficult time for girls everywhere! Your support will let her continue her education.
We are committed to alleviating poverty through a holistic approach. By 2013 our primary schools will be at capacity, educating over 480 primary students in 2 schools while providing scholarship to over 300 secondary and high school students every year. Currently we help our students' caretakers and 7,000 other grandmothers who are self-organized into 91 groups by providing access to micro-finance, clean water, vegetable seeds, counseling, health care, and more. Our program is 100% replicable
