Hello PEPY friends and community,
Thank you so much for contributing to our first-year scholars' community payback project micro-grant. With matching funds, we raised over $1200 together!
Getting more funds for community projects this year is crucial because so many youths and children in our scholars' communities have missed a significant amount of time in school and can use all the support they can get. The majority of our scholarship groups are eager to use the funds to create local libraries for primary or secondary schools while some groups are focusing on English education and hygiene.
With your support, they will be able to expand their projects to additional schools and work with more village and teacher partners to provide workshops and books, toothbrushes, and school supplies. Due to the school closures and lockdowns, the projects had been postponed until just a few weeks ago. Since this project page is retired on GlobalGiving, you will be able to see follow-ups on our social media and newsletter.
So far we have received a very generous donation from Asia Foundation providing us over 100 books to support the libraries the students are putting together! We are excited to send photos to you soon.
In the meantime, we wish you all a very wonderful holiday season and hope that we can all take part in helping our neighbors and community in the new year.
