Greetings to you from Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) – India!
Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) with the support of all the esteemed donors of GlobalGiving in its unique intervention with working children and dropout journeys with different activities which would enable and enhance the life of the working children through this camp. Working with the targeted children gives satisfied inner feelings and derives happiness among the HEARDS team to work with dedication. The growth of the children, regular attendance and the good performance in the technical standards in the centre are the real witnesses and the evidences for the activities that are facilitated by HEARDS. The children admit that they benefit a lot to excel in their education through the summer camp run by HEARDS.
INNOVATIVE EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN
Education is the road that children follow to reach their full potential in life. Yet many children in need around the world do not get a quality education where they can learn and develop. But at HEARDS our Teachers, Project Coordinator and myself started implementing all the innovative education program happening around the world. We train teachers to engage their students through more effective teaching practices. As most of our office bearers were related with Information Technology so they always have an extensive research through net and other sources and came forwards with many problem solving skills towards these kids education. We tried to provide education in such a way that the children should feel ease of learning. We tried to provide this by way of play way method and we never ask children to mug up anything. For this we have utilised various educational cards, charts, books, and various educational software used by way of computers were utilised in our project. All the methodology which is implemented by HEARDS has created great impact among these target children. That was another big success of HEARDS where we were able to mainstream more and more children every year.
AWARENESS GENERATION
Apart from direct rehabilitation of working children, it is proposed to prevent entry of children to work by arousing and awakening' the critical consciousness of public against the end of child labour. Due to continuous awareness campaign has been successful; there has been less influence of children to work by way of replacement.
FUN AND PLAY
Our staff had brought goodies and other stuff for children and did games and activities with children. At the end of the camp the children and the teachers were distributed with full of surprise stuffy – stickers, pouch with pen, pencil box, eraser, coloring book, ruler etc. Apart from this they enjoyed the camp with kids by eating the nutritious mid-day meal. The kids were happy beyond their own imagination. Now, the kids use the stuff every day.
