We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.
Diwali is the festival of lights and happiness. All of us grandly celebrate Diwali with our family. Markets and homes are decorated as light house. Children are most excited for the preparations and celebrating Diwali. They dress up in new clothes, have various sweets and enjoyed diwali. We all light lamps and candles at our homes on the ocassion, but there are some children whose Diwali goes in darkness as they neither have new clothes to wear nor have crackers to play. They feel unhappy by watching other children celebrating Diwali.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation, organized "Sneh-Milan, a frriendly congregation" for such poor children on the ocassion of Diwali. The program was held at ajmer bye-pass where we celebrated Diwali with 54 children of nearby slum. In the program, new clothes were given to children sitting in rows beneath a canopy. All children wore new clothes and showed each other in excitement. Our activists arranged singing and dancing activities for children in the program where some children danced on Rajasthani folk songs and some of them sang songs. Then children had food and enjoyed delicious dishes. After getting satiated, they played with crackers.
While playing with crackers, a child among them got emonition and started weeping. When our activists asked her the reason, she told that her mother got died last year just before Diwali and after her there was no one to look after her. Her father was a habitual boozer and kept consuming liquor. She had wore new clothes and had delicious food first time after the death of her mother. She felt happiness after a long period.
Our activists wished Diwali greetings to all children and Children also wished Diwali greeting and thanks to Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation.
