New Batch Of Young Trainees
By Sandra Simon | Project Coordinator
The new batch of Trainees for 2014 have arrived at the VTOC and there are currently 96 trainees who are training in different Vocations. This year there are more Trainees from the indigenous groups of East Malaysia.
We are believing in greater things at VTOC so that we can give the best and do more for these young women. We would like to thank previous donors for their kind contribution towards this project. We hope we can also look into upgrading our existing computers so that the young Trainees can learn ICT and become more equipped when they finish their training
at the end of the year. This year we have more volunteers who help the Trainees in building confidence and readiness when they finish their training and look for jobs or continue their studies. Every year we try to make the Training more condusive for the Trainees.

Trainees Creating Websites
Trainees learn how to create their own websites according to their vocation. They are thrilled and excited to promote thier business online and looking forward to work from their homes. Most of these trainees are from the Sewing & Talioring Course and the Culinary & Bakery Course. As trainees were given through computer training in these areas it gave the trainees a lot of motivation to create these Websites. They have started receiving Enquiries to their business. 2 Trainees from the Culinary & Bakery Course have started receiving orders for cakes. The trainees are also getting more creative in posting photos of their various products. At the moment they use their phones to take the photos. They hope to get better equipped with cameras.

Happy Trainees
The VTOC girls received their certificates in their individual skill acquired. All the young women were excited and ready to enter the working world. All of them looked excited with their new clothes and shoes that were given to them for their certificate ceremony.
Parents came to witness the certificate ceremony from near and far. Some had travelled for 8 hours to reach the VTOC. Even some of the new employers were present. This was a new beginning for them all. Trainees are all well equipped with their starter kits and some of them have new clothes for their new jobs.
Some trainees gave testimonies of their 1 year with the VTOC. They mentioned how their lives had changed and how they were more confident, brave and able to speak in front of an audience. Not forgetting their experience of living together with young women from other races and backgrounds.
We would like to thank all those who donated to this project and gave support to all the trainees at VTOC.
Would you like to support another project like this one for the year 2013?
What do you think?
