We are extremely grateful to all of our donors for this project.
While we did not reach the entire funding goal, we were able to raise enough money to at least partially fund the water catchment system. We are now in the process of finding resources for the remaining portion. We also recently connected with a Brazilian student that works with Engineers without Borders and is enthusiastic to collaborate in the project of water catchment. Therefore, we may be able to decrease our costs with their help and expertise! They have built water catchment systems in other areas and would love to implement one here with us. We are meeting with their director this week.
We now are also speaking with the new incoming director of the school, as well as other several very involved parents from the school, to decide how we can work together to implement the water catchment system. We hope to involve students from student council in the actually building so they can learn, as well.
As it is now summer break for the students, and we need to mobilize the remaining financial resources, we will likely not be able to start construction until February. However, we are very enthusastic that we will find a way to make the water catchment.
Thank you so much for all those that contributed!!
