Shining Light on Rural Communities is a project that empowers youth and supports families in Mpigi, Uganda by supplying and assembling solar panels, providing clean energy and promoting environmental protection. 100 families with school-going children will benefit from solar panels, batteries, and bulbs, installed by trained youth.
In Mpigi, Uganda, 95% of rural households lack access to electricity, hindering economic development and education. According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, only 5% of rural areas have grid electricity, forcing families to rely on expensive and polluting energy sources.
Our project addresses this challenge by supplying and assembling solar panels in rural communities, training youth in installation to promote employment and skills development, and providing 100 families with school-going children with solar panels, batteries, and bulbs, ultimately reducing reliance on polluting energy sources and promoting environmental protection.
This project will have a lasting impact on the community by improving access to clean energy, empowering youth with employable skills, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing the overall quality of life for families and communities, ultimately fostering a brighter future.
