In America, land of the free, there are hundreds of thousands of children that are not free - who are being exploited for labor and sex. Sadly, the average age of entry is 10-13. That's why we've created a nationwide awareness event and created a nationwide awareness event on Saturday November 20th, to celebrate Universal Children's Day and put an end to child exploitation all the way through Giving Tuesday and beyond! The even better news is you can help us do that by educating kids!
Our children are being intentionally targeted, groomed, recruited and exploited by predators online. In fact, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported online enticement increased 98% from 2019 to 2020. We can interrupt this cycle by educating kids and parents about online recruitment tactics, grooming practices & screen time addiction. We can disrupt the cycle powerfully, with love and compassion. Truth is, our parents need this and kids want this information.
We are partnering with local schools, churches and youth organizations to educate & empower them to protect themselves from being exploitation. Parents are at their wits end trying to fully understand what is happening to their children or how to have a conversation about it. We provide training courses for families impacting hundreds of lives. Many parents do not comprehend the insidious nature of online exploitation. That's why Light on For Children is important. Simple idea with giant impact
The long term impact is to reduce screen time, decrease the impact of online/video game addition, restoring peace in the household through conversations vs arguments, decrease the risk of online exploitation and increasing family harmony. Families want this information, so do their kids. After our educational programs, students 60% said they talked to their parents or friends about what they learned. We encourage conversations & being curious vs reacting; reducing stress & creating connection.
