This project will allow us to send DANZAREA'S teachers Moises Garcia and Aixa Gondola, to represent Panama and Gramo Danse Company to an international contemporary dance festival in Malaga-Spain, called "Ventana Abierta a la Danza 2018". They will also go on a dance tour in Costa Rica, taking the same contemporary dance piece called "a modo de empleo", Both tours are awards for winning the second place in the contest "SoloDos en Danza" -Costa Rica 2018.
There are currently a lot of opportunities to take our dance to international festivals, but local fundings for this kind of activities is often difficult, because supporting arts, and artists, isn't very common -or generous- among cultural (public) institutions, or even private funds. We hope that this initiative will change the perspective for these two great dancers, who need the crowdfunding power to represent Panama abroad.
Fundacion Gramo Danse is providing financial support for Aixa and Moises, but the funds are limited, and being this travel to another continent makes it really expensive, even though it is a great opportunity. By creating this Microproject we expect to raise the funds we still need to send them to Malaga, Spain to represent Panama at the "Ventana Abierta a la Danza 2018" international festival.
This project which started in 2008 has benefited already more than 2,500 children and teenagers from at-risk communities in Panama City, instilling love for art and culture. Danzarea will contribute to the integral education of this 60 children with the goal that they remain in the project until they complete high school education. This teachers will return more experienced, and with more skills to teach our children, who will see in them excellent examples to follow.
This project has provided additional documentation in a XLSX file (projdoc.xlsx).
