We are absolutely delighted to be able to send through this report with pictures of Emihle's first week at her new school, Queens Girls' High School, in Queenstown, South Africa. It's been a terribly busy start to the year with 23 African Angels leaners entering, or returning to 12 different high schools. Your support for Emihle's crowdfunding campaign meant she was accepted to Queens Girls High, a very well run high school, with a long and proud history of 100% pass rates for their matriculating (graduating) class. We are so grateful for your support, and that of Ann and Harlan for driving this campaign.
Emihle went up to Queenstown with her mother, (pictured), The first week of school was Orientation Week and Emihle was somewhat nervous and quite homesick, but had the support of our on the ground supporter Lucinda, and her hostel matron. As soon as the week was over and a routine established, she settled nicely and is enjoying her new school, and friends.
We will send through updates each term (4 x a year) about Emihle so you can see her progress, and activities.
Nelson Mandela said "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Your support has changed Emihle's world, her future, and that of her family. Thank you.
With gratitude,
Lou
