This holiday, help us continue to provide our community basic needs items including core hygiene products and modern basic needs for nonprofit partners. Your gift allows collaborations between Jake's and area nonprofit to support people living in poverty, and empower them to financial self-sufficiency.
Oftentimes, those struggling with extremely limited budgets have previously made the decision to sacrifice their hygiene health to instead afford food or shelter. Living on low income looks like: Struggling to wash your hair when you can't afford shampoo; using a worn out toothbrush or sharing because you can't afford a new one; always wearing hand-me-down and used clothing because new outfits are too expensive; and re-using disposable baby diapers to stretch your supply and reduce costs.
Our goal is to enable schools, faith-based and nonprofit organizations serving individuals on the path to self sufficiency to more effectively reach that goal. This means we are working alongside nonprofits who provide essential services such as: job counseling; child care; financial support and education; and more. In working with these partners, we are providing a comprehensive support system for individuals struggling with poverty.
We know alleviating the financial burden of basic hygiene supplies creates room for people to afford more basic needs. Providing hygiene items therefore becomes an essential tool in empowering people to live clean, healthy and active lives and make a big difference toward the movement to end poverty.

Every microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Circle of Change - Monthly Giving. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.
If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.
